Lawyer Elena Amati graduated with honors at the University of Insubria in 2012 with a thesis in criminal procedure law titled “Due process and appeal process: an incompatible pair?” with Professor Francesca Ruggieri as her supervisor.
In the academic year 2012-2013 she won a scholarship to study a PhD in History and Doctrine of Institutions and specialized in criminal procedure law. In the academic year 2015-2016 she discussed her PhD thesis “Multifunctional vocation of the criminal seizure and problematic evaluation of the fumus commissi delicti” and obtained the highest marks with honors for her excellent work.
In the past, she worked as assistant professor of Professor Francesca Ruggieri and as subject expert for the courses Criminal Procedure Law, Advanced Criminal Procedure Law and Prison Law at the University of Insubria, Department of Law, Economics and Culture.
She has been a member of Giovani Processualpenalisti, a group set up within the G.D. Pisapia Criminal Trial Association of Scholars, since 2020, the year in which the group was founded.
She has been a member of the Milan bar since 2019.
As a lawyer, she has worked in Milan with a leading firm in the field of criminal law (Studio DFS – Dinoia, Federico, Simbari). Here she has gained specific experience in corporate criminal law, bankruptcy offences, tax crimes, property offences and crimes against the public administration.
In the field of criminal law, Elena Amati provides both out-of-court advice and legal assistance in court to individuals and companies throughout Italy. Her work focuses on tax crimes, bankruptcy offences, crimes against the public administration and medical liability.
With regard to the administrative liability of entities (former Legislative Decree no. 231/2001), she drafts, together with professionals experienced in corporate law, organization and control models and provides advice and legal assistance to entities.
Since January 2022 she has been working with the law firm MMSLEX.
